Abstract

The article highlights the proposals of the white paper "Keeping the Right People on the DNA Database: Science and Public Protection" in relation to the child's DNA profile in Great Britain. It states that the white paper suggests that the DNA profile of a child convicted with one minor offence and a child arrested once, but not convicted must be deleted at the age of 18. However, the proposal has been regarded as inadequate and unlikely to ensure the protection of the child's right to privacy.
