Abstract

The article presents a research on the induced stress proteins by Leishmania donovani (L. donovani) protozoa after alkyl-lysophospholipid (ALP) treatments. Leishmaniasis, such as visceral leishmaniasis (VL), is said to be caused by L. donovani and is considered to be one of the most serious protozoan diseases by the World Health Organization (WHO). Treatments of leishmaniasis have been derived from ALPs which have high activity against L. donovani development stages. Further discussed are the reactions of L. donovani to different ALPs and its morphological and structural modifications due to promastigote formations.
