Abstract

An encyclopedia entry for "Uranus," a planet in the solar system, is presented. It presents the planet's astronomical constants, with respect to its distance from the Sun. The planet, named for the father of the Titans in Roman mythology, was discovered in 1781 by Sir William Herschel. Also noted in the entry is the planet's orbit and rotation, atmosphere, surface and composition and natural satellites.
