Abstract
- The article reports that U.S. District Judge Denny Chin will decide on whether to approve a deal that would allow Google Inc. scan millions of copyrighted and out-of-print books to make them searchable via the Internet and other electronic devices. Google made the deal with the Authors Guild and the Association of American Publishers and has a proposed settlement to resolve copyright claims of authors and publishers and pay legal fees. The opposing views regarding the deal are also discussed.
