Abstract
- A study of the academic dissertation by Nicolas Landry "Les Basques dans le golfe du Saint-Laurent se racontent" is presented. According to the article, the purpose of this dissertation is to provide a historical context on the negotiations between France and Canada concerning fishing rights in the Atlantic Ocean in the 15th and 16th centuries. The article also discusses the type of sources on which the dissertation is based, which describes the perception that the Basques had of their role in 1710, and the position of historians concerning these types of documents.
