Abstract

The article focuses on the estimation of connectivity among populations of coastal marine species. It notes that it uses a trace-element composition in otoliths of the temperature wrasse Coris julis inorder to estimate population connectivity. It mentions that the extent to which these populations are connected has important implications for population dynamics and persistence. It examines the natal elemental signatures in the otolith cores of recruit rainbow wrase Coris julis to delve into the population connectivity or isolation scenarios.
