Abstract

The article presents a study that investigates on the impact of missense polymorphisms in BRCA1 and BRCA2 on the risk of breast and ovarian cancer. It states that nine possible biologically relevant polymorphisms were identified from 194 women with familial history of breast or ovarian cancer. It was concluded that heterozygosity and homozygosity of the examined nine missense polymophisms cannot explain the increased risk of breast and ovarian cancer in families with hereditary condition.
