Abstract

The article reports that automobile supplier executives in Michigan say that the cash-for-clunkers program launched by the U.S. government could be a blessing or a curse for cash-strapped suppliers. They added that it depends on whether it creates a sustained gain in vehicle production. George Perry, president of Yazaki North America Inc. says that a short-lived production spike will only stress suppliers.
