Abstract
- An encyclopedia entry about the ba'alot teshuva is presented. Ba'alot teshuva refers to Jewish women not raised as Orthodox who have made a decision to become Orthodox as adults. The decision to pursue Orthodox Jewish ways of life represents a potential solution to questions related to women's proper roles. These Jewish women are looking for a sense of self-rootedness in a bigger existing community.
