Abstract

The article discusses a two-week study by the Academic Innovation Team based within Sheffield Hallam University in Sheffield, England involving 15 students who were asked to register for a Twitter account. The study is aimed at exploring student use of informal learning spaces. The benefits of Twitter for data collection over more traditional diary-based data are also discussed.
