Abstract: This section offers news briefs concerning the nuclear industry as of August 2009. A bid was received by Nuclear Power Corp. of India Ltd. from Areva on July 9, 2009 to supply two electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) pressurized water reactors. Southern Nuclear has a plan to apply for another construction and operating licenses (COL) in late 2011. The Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. has announced that National Research Universal (NRU) isotope production will not resume until the end of 2009.
