Abstract
- The article presents a study on the color development and variation of hydrangea macrophylla sepal cells. It discusses how the sepals of the flowering plant hydrangea obtain its blue and red color variation. It states that colored cells of hydrangea sepals are located at the second layer from the surface and are obtained by treating with cellulase and prectinase. Based on the aluminum analysis, there is a high aluminum concentration in the blue protoplast compared to the red ones.
