Abstract: The article reports on the study that determines the malignant transformation of ovarian dermoid cysts in women with abdominal pain. The study performs total abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy with partial omentectomy. It indicates that rupture of a dermoid cyst of the ovary resulting in chemical peritonitis is rare and may be associated with malignant transformation.
