Abstract
- The article presents a study which examines the inter-wetland connectivity in a southern national park in Australia. The study had an intensive monitoring on the movements of freshwater turtles thru capture-mark-recapture over a three-year period. It revealed that a high percentage of turtles are moving between wetlands indicating the disadvantage of wetlands representing the minimum habitat unit harboring. The study concludes the need for understanding the spatial and temporal variation in intra-patch processes as well as the expected movement responses of animals.
