Abstract

The author reflects on the human history in Ireland. The author states that the knowledge of Irish people on history has been weakened and has been replaced by a fascination of general research. He adds that constitutional and revolutionary are the two traditions in Irish nationalism, which arise as an enraged response to systematic injustice. He emphasizes that a healthy democracy is assured with the acceptance of the many-sided past and a critical attitude towards the present.
