Abstract

WHEN you shop, you tend to gravitate towards those familiar things that your best friends might describe as 'very you'. This experience only intensifies as you age. I say this as someone whose friends could spot a frill-free, monochrome piece of clothing at 100 paces and label it mine. Some might kindly call this a style signature. Others might call it plain boring. I've come to agree. It's why some people (me) complain that they haven't a thing to wear, but actually they have plenty, it just all looks the same: dull. Which brings me to sequins. Possibly the least 'me' thing I could think of wearing. Which is probably why I've recently developed a hankering for them. The trouble is, although sequins have been considered appropriate daywear for the fashion conscious for a fair few years, they are still a tricky one to get right. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
