Abstract

The article presents survey on the contamination of Campylobacter species in retail poultry meats and by-products in the world. It notes that these species are common bacterial pathogens linked with human gastroenteritis. Survey shows that majority of retail poultry meats and by-products were contaminated with Campylobacter spp. It was found out that C, coli dominates in Thailand and South Africa isolated from retail poultry. It suggests that further trials are needed to find proper countermeasures and attention for the sanitary handling of poultry products.
