Abstract

Abstract: A series of different amines was immobilized on a silica support by grafting or impregnation and tested for CO<subscript>2</subscript> adsorption in simulated flue gases. This paper compares the adsorption isotherms and the cyclic adsorption capacities of these materials. Furthermore, we estimate the diffusion rate of CO<subscript>2</subscript> from simulations of the breakthrough curves and discuss some aspects of the design of a potential adsorption process for CO<subscript>2</subscript> capture.
