Abstract
- The article explores the study on herpetofauna at Talaud Archipelago in Indonesia which, based on records, comprises 27 species of amphibians and reptiles that include three different species of frogs, 17 lizards, five snake species as well as one sea turtle and one crocodile. It provides information on the Talaud Archipelago which represents the northern most area within the Wallacea transition zone between the Oriental and Australian faunal regions. The study is conducted on the east coast of Salibabu Island where researchers collected and observed the vicinity of Lirung, a settlement with a ferry landing stage. Among the amphibians and reptiles found in the Talaud Islands are Litoria infrafrenata, Bronchocela cristatella, and Gehyra mutilata.
