Abstract

Because of the discreteness of the interpolation interval, factual feedrate and displacement in interpolation are discrete basing on the interpolation interval, causing the error between the factual feedrate and theoretical feedrate planned according to continuous time. This error leads to a series of problems including conflict between the feedrate after the acceleration section and the programming feedrate, forward-moving or backward-moving of the deceleration point, and discrimination between final feedrate of interpolation and that of the end-point appointed, which negatively impacts machining precision. Thus, adjustment of feedrate planning basing on discrete interpolation interval was put forward. Problems mentioned above were thoroughly analyzed and solutions were presented for both the trapezoidal and S curve feedrate profiles. The efficiency of the adjustment was experimentally verified eventually. The presented adjustment has been used in practical projects currently. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
