Agricultural credit groups stay healthy.

The article focuses on agricultural credit associations (ACA) in Texas and their performance in the midst of an economic recession. These associations grant loans for long-term rural real estate loans, short-term operating loans, rural home loans and other types of loans for farmers, ranchers, agribusiness and rural homeowners. Two examples of ACA operating in Texas are AgTexas in Lubbock and Lone Star Ag Credit in Fort Worth. Their funding comes from the Federal Farm Credit Banks Funding Corp. and are regulated by the U.S. Farm Credit Administration.
