Abstract

The article focuses on the rapid population increase of the wool-carder bee, anthidium manicatum, in North America. In the 1960s, their existence were first discovered and were restricted in the area until 2001. The authors state that their abrupt increase in population were reported from Novia Scotia. These form of bees posed a threat to the extinction of native Anthidium species. The female Anthidium manicatum can expose the native Anthidiums species from pests and microorganisms while the male species can be really aggressive to other native species. Their superiority and lethal behavior led to the destruction of pollinators in the area.
