2000 -- A New Century: YOU AND ME THE LAST EPIC LEADER.

A chapter from the book "A Prophet in His Own Land: A Malcolm Boyd Reader" is presented. It explores the author's experience of joining Martin Luther King's nonviolent protests including one during 1965 and another in 1968. It highlights King as a faithful leader who did not lose touch with his constituency even when it sometimes lost patience with him and as a Christian leader who held onto the central message of love even when virtually everybody seemed to ridicule him for doing so.
