Building code changes support greener building practices.

The article focuses on the proposed changes to the building and plumbing code regulations in Nova Scotia. The proposed regulations are designed to enhance the energy efficiency of homes and offices in the country. They are also aimed at increasing consumer protection through minimum standards for builders that promise energy conservation measures. The regulations will replace the EnerGuide home efficiency goals identified in the Environmental Goals and Sustainability Act of 2008. They will take effect on April 1, 2009.
