Abstract

The article offers information on the mobile safety center (MSC) that offers education and reduced-cost safety products to low-income urban families in the U.S. As stated, MSC is a mobile unit similar to the hospital-based safety center and was formulated to serve the community in settings such as clinics and community events. It is developed through a community partnership and is staffed by health educators from national organizations including American Academy of Pediatrics and the National Fire Protection Association. In addition, it offers safety products such as safety gates and car safety seats and provides a free car seat installations and referrals to the Baltimore City Fire Department's Free smoke alarm installation program.
