Abstract
- The article presents a case study on a leather garment that was cleaned in perc solvent with a normal charge of leather oil, which resulted to significant shrinkage and great color loss. The leather care label symbol with the letter F, implies that the garment can only be cleaned in white spirit or hydrocarbon but not in perc which can strip out the color and leather oils. The cleaner could have avoided the damage if he clearly recognized the care label.
