Abstract
- The article looks at the physical and mental coping strategies required of long-distance open-water swimmers. It focuses on how to prepare for such a challenge by first establishing the goal and developing a plan. If-then rules as well as examples of its application in open-water distance swimming are likewise presented. The authors suggest classical preparatory sessions for English Channel swimmers.
