The article presents a discussion on the socio-anthropology of mosquitoes. Descriptions are given of the opposition between perspectives of anthropocentrism and biocentrism in a conflict concerning mosquito eradication in Camargue, France. Further comments are given regarding the social, political, and economic impact of mosquito populations on human beings and the environment as a whole.
