Abstract

The article offers information on the effectiveness of high potassium diet in lowering high blood pressure. Result of the study shows that the effect of low potassium on increasing blood pressure may be even greater than the effect of high sodium intake. Julie Stefanski, a clinical dietitian at York Hospital in York, Pennsylvania, recommends to eat foods rich in potassium such as banana, avocados, prunes and yogurt but not advisable to patients with kidney problems without doctor's advice.
