Abstract

The article discusses the study which determines the efficacy of crop safety to various residual herbicides combined with transgenic cotton weed control programs conducted in Mississippi. The study used a randomized complete block design with four replications used for all experiments along with Roundup Ready experiments of all herbicide applications. The treatments in experiments with Roundup Ready cotton were applied for three application timings including preemergence (PRE), postemergence over-the-top (POT) and POT at 4-leaf cotton. The study found that yields were poorest when applications were delayed to the 7-leaf application timing or when it is applied at the 1-leaf application timing with no residual herbicide.
