Abstract
- The article offers information on the financial troubles being faced by New York City-based Sports Museum of America. The cultural venue is witnessing a disappointing attendance, which is forcing it to lay off staff, decrease its admission price, and plan an aggressive marketing strategy to improve attendance. Chief executive officer Caleb Koeppel blames the recession for the troubles. In September 2008, the museum defaulted on the $57m Liberty Bonds that funded more than half of its costs.
