Abstract

The article reports on archaeological findings regarding Tintagel, a headland in the north Cornwall with legends of being associated with King Arthur and his knights. Archaeologist Raleigh Radford excavated the area in the 1930s and 1950s and concluded the area had housed a monastic order. A research team from the University of Glasgow led by Chris Morris worked from 1990 to 1999 and found the area to be a fort with three periods of building spanning dates circa 395-670.
