Antiretroviral Therapy Update From the 48th ICAAC/46th IDSA Annual Meeting.

The article presents several studies presented on the 48th Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy on issues on HIV therapeutics. It notes that conference highlighted findings that can be beneficial in making decisions such as when to begin antiretroviral therapy and suitable therapies for antiretroviral-naive patients. It also relates current developments in antiretroviral therapies which are in phase 1 and 2 which include the oral drug bevirimat and elvucitabine.
