Abstract

The article presents a research study which investigated the hypothesis that the induction of inducible NO synthase (iNOS) contributes to left ventricular hypertrophy and dysfunction in mice with 2-kidney, 1-clip hypertension. Researchers concluded that deletion of iNOS does not seem to play a role in hypertension induced by 2-kidney, 1-clip hypertension and cardiac hypertrophy. It was found to enhance preservation of cardiac function.
