Abstract

The article profiles American athletes including runners Amy Begley and Tyson Gay who trained for the eight-day Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon to participate in the 2008 Beijing Olympics in China. Begley from Portland, was one who took the legitimate shot for the 10,000-meter marathon, with a record of 31 minutes and 59 seconds. After another trial, Begley's result made her qualified for the Olympics. It states that Gay made it up to the final after he took it in just 9.68 seconds.
