Abstract
- This article presents writer George Hitchcock. He was born in Hood River, Oregon and studied at the University of Oregon. He spent his early career working as a journalist and began writing for the theater during the 1950s. Hitchcock was called before the U.S. House Un-American Activities Committee during the McCarthy era. Later in life, Hitchcock began working in the visual arts, focusing on stone carving and painting.
