Telmisartan in ACE-Inhibitor-Intolerant Patients: A Disappointment.

The article discusses a research that examines the effectiveness of angiotensin-receptor blocker telmisartan in 5,926 patients with cardiovascular disease who cannot tolerate angiotensin-converting-enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. Results suggest that telmisartan was well tolerated by patients intolerant of ACE inhibitors. However, the drug had no significant impact on the primary study outcome. Mean blood pressure was lower in the telmisartan group than in the placebo group.
