Abstract
- The article discusses several lessons learned from an electronic medical records (EMR) system. One of the benefits of the EMR system is the quick availability of patients' records at any site. A limitation of EMR is the slow speed of the software, which affect patient visits. Several choices to be made upon the selection of an EMR system include the selection of hardware, software, office visit templates, templates for each procedure, fluorescein angiogram and the template of consult letters.
