Abstract

The article presents hearsays and responses about the revision of the New Zealand Curriculum (NZC). It includes the contention that NZC diminishes the importance of knowledge, which is in turn reputed by the author as a kind of misrepresentation as knowledge will always be the centerpiece of education. Another is the rumor that NZC turned schools into agents for indoctrination of values, a statement that the author considers as rubbish as the values listed in the document are not exclusive. Fewer achievement objectives in NZC, an assertion that is proven by the author as delusive is also mentioned.
