Abstract
- This paper is theoretical in nature and applies two of the leading theories of social justice to criminal justice practice in the United States. The author applies the theories of John Rawls (Justice as Fairness, 2003) and David Miller (Principles of Social Justice, 2003) to the criminal law, policing, judicial processes, and correctional punishment in order to identify sources of injustice. The paper concludes with suggestions for reform aimed at making criminal justice practice more consistent with social justice. ..PAT.-Unpublished Manuscript [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
