Abstract

The article presents a study which measured the concentration of <superscript>7</superscript>beryllium (Be) in the outdoor ambient air of Lahore City in Pakistan. The concentration of the cosmogenic radionuclide was measured using two air samplers and a high purity germanium detector. The air samplers were used in collecting samples of air particulates. The study has found that <superscript>7</superscript>Be concentration exists in the range from 1.6 to 11.3 megabecquerel per cubic metre. Rainfall reduces the concentration of the cosmogenic radionuclide in outdoor air.
