Abstract

Chapter 13.2 of the book "Metrics of Material & Metal Ecology" is presented. It explores the recycling of aluminium metal containing material or aluminium scrap. The aluminium production losses associated with oxidation, the comparison between fluxless melting of aluminium scrap and melting under salt and the properties of salt flux for aluminium melting are discussed. The gaseous, aqueous and solid emissions from secondary aluminium melting are identified.
