Abstract

Chapter 8 of the book "Film Technology in Context" is presented. It explains how sound is transferred, edited, mixed and synchronized in the production of film. It discusses the different soundtracks that are used in making the final mix of the movie, it includes the print master, digital soundtracks and music and effects tracks. It also discusses the analogue soundtrack quality in terms of compression and equalization, density and volume, and loudness.
