Abstract

The article discusses Sanskrit as the language of the gods of Hinduism. Sanskrit, which means perfected or well made, is used in the wide variety of religious literature of the Aryans. It is also referred to as a dead language in the same manner of Greek or Latin but said to be incorrect as it is still used in Hindu rituals and in ceremonial occasions. Sanskrit was not a spoken language and was used only by the educated, which served as a link for the elite across India.
