Abstract

The article discusses the defence given by French existentialist philosopher and novelist Jean-Paul Sartre to a series of newspapers put out by left-wing extremists in Paris, France in 1970. He wrote in the "La Cause du peuple" that revolutionary violence for the Maoists is immediately and profound moral. He showed his support to the most violently revolutionary in France and he wrote his fourth essay in existential psychoanalysis. He published the first part of his book on novelist Gustave Flaubert in 1971 under the title "The Family Idiot."
