Abstract

The article focuses on the fact that the island of Corsica, France, did not take a significant part in the expansion of Mediterranean ethnology, whereas after 1945, Mediterranean countries became the object of new anthropological research. The article analyzes the reasons for this situation, and how they reveal something of the island's anthropology, from both a social and cultural standpoint.
