Abstract: The article reports that Tenneco Inc. chief executive officer (CEO) Gregg Sherrill, unlike many of his counterparts, is welcoming tighter emission rules initiated by the government. It is stated that Sherrill aims to expand on Tenneco's market-leading position in supplying mufflers and exhaust systems for passenger cars and pickups. He also wants to build a dominant stake in a lucrative new market for emissions-control components on diesel engines in the U.S. and China.
