Abstract
- The article elaborates on the attribution of the painting "Rural Matron" found at The Art Museum in Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey. The artist used oil on panel measuring 71 centimeters (cm) by 60.2 cm, depicting a woman whose hair, jewelry and blue ribbons seem to shimmer as the wrap through the bonnet's fold and fall along her shoulders. Her black, balloon-sleeved, high-waisted dress, decorated with a gold-colored belt buckle and ornate lace collar depicts the fashion of 1830s.
