Abstract
- The article discusses the renaming of the Birmingham Airport in Alabama to honor the memory and legacy of civil rights activist Reverend Fred Shuttlesworth. The airport's name was changed to Birmingham Shuttlesworth International Airport. Shuttlesworth was a former pastor of a Birmingham, Alabama, baptist church and campaigned against the city's segregation laws during the 1950s and 1960s.
