Abstract: We describe the first examples of liposomes and vesicles in formamide, a structured non-aqueous medium. Bilayer membranes were obtained after dispersion of lecithin (for liposomes) and dodecylalkyl-dimethylammonium bromide (for vesicles) in formamide.
